Administering Checkpoints
This section describes the following tasks:
Creating Checkpoints
VRW enables you to create Primary checkpoints. Primary checkpoints are associated with a Primary RVG. VRW enables you to create a maximum of 46 checkpoints.
Checkpoints cannot be nested. A started checkpoint must be checkended before a new one can be checkstarted.
To start a checkpoint

Select an RDS or Primary or Secondary RVG view.

Select Tools > Start Checkpoint.

In the Start Checkpoint dialog box, enter a checkpoint name and click OK. A message displays the status of the checkpoint.

Click Close.
Ending Checkpoints
To end a checkpoint

Select an RDS or Primary or Secondary RVG view.

Select Tools > End Checkpoint.

In the End Checkpoint dialog box, click OK to confirm that you want to end the checkpoint which is currently started. A message displays the status of the checkpoint.

Click Close.
Viewing Checkpoints
Checkpoints are displayed in the Primary RVG view for the RDS.
- To display information about a checkpoint, click the checkpoint name, or move the cursor over it.
The information includes usage, % of log used, and the status of the checkpoint (started or complete).
The RDS view indicates the number of checkpoints available.
Deleting Checkpoints
To delete a checkpoint

Select an RDS or a Primary or Secondary RVG view.

Select Tools > Delete Checkpoint.

In the Delete Checkpoint dialog box, select the checkpoint from the drop-down box. Select the option box if the checkpoint has not been checkpoint ended and you still want to delete it.

Click OK. A message displays the status of the checkpoint delete operation.

Click Close.
