Understanding VERITAS Volume Replicator
VERITAS Volume Replicator (VVR) is data-replication software designed to contribute to an effective disaster recovery plan. VVR enables you to maintain an exact or consistent copy of application data at one or more remote locations.
VVR replicates writes from the source host to the remote hosts. If a disaster occurs at the source location, you can use the copy of the application data at the remote location to restart the application at the remote location. The host at the source location on which the application is running is known as the Primary host, and the host at the target location is known as the Secondary host. You can have up to 32 Secondary hosts in a VVR environment.
