1. Impact

On rare occasions, a Sun Ray USB mouse device may become intermittently unresponsive.

2. Contributing Factors

This issue can occur in the following releases:

SPARC Platform

• Sun Ray Server Software (SRSS) Version 1.3 without patch 111891-10
• Sun Ray Server Software (SRSS) Version 2.0 without patch 114880-01

To determine the version of SRSS on your system, run the following command:

    % pkginfo -x SUNWuto                                                                                          

This issue only occurs on a Sun USB Mouse with part number 370-3632-01 and a revision of 05C or 06C. The affected mouse device can be identified from the part number and serial number range on the underside of the USB mouse.

For example, the USB mouse label will read as follows:

    P/N 370-3632-01
    S/N 0x92372M 06C                                                                                    

In the example above the revision is 06C.

3. Symptoms

If the described issue occurs, the Sun Ray USB mouse will "lock up." As a result, the mouse pointer will become unresponsive.

4. Relief/Workaround

There is no workaround. Please see the "Resolution" section below.

This issue is addressed in the following releases:

• Sun Ray Server Software (SRSS) Version 1.3 with patch 111891-10 or later
• Sun Ray Server Software (SRSS) Version 2.0 with patch 114880-01 or later
