This illustration shows a sample Oracle Internet Directory configuration on a hardware cluster. It has four components:
LDAP clients
Physical Node 1, which has failed
Physical Node 2 containing Directory Server Instance 1, Logical Host 1, Directory Server Instance 2, and Logical Host 2
A Shared Disk, which contains Database 1 and Database 2
The LDAP clients connect to both Physical Node 1 and Physical Node 2.
On Physical Node 1, Directory Server Instance 1 runs on Logical Host 1, and it connects with Database 1. On Physical Node 2, Directory Server Instance 2 runs on Logical Host 2, and it connects with Database 2.
A dotted line connects Directory Server Instance 1 and Directory Server Instance 2, indicating that they are in a replication agreement.
