OCIDateTimeConvert()

Purpose

Converts one datetime type to another.

Syntax

sword OCIDateTimeConvert ( dvoid        *hndl,
                           OCIError     *err, 
                           OCIDateTime  *indate, 
                           OCIDateTime  *outdate );

Parameters

hndl (IN)

The OCI user session handle or environment handle.

err (IN/OUT)

The OCI error handle. If there is an error, it is recorded in err and this function returns OCI_ERROR. Obtain diagnostic information by calling OCIErrorGet().

indate (IN)

A pointer to the input date.

outdate (OUT)

A pointer to the output datetime.

Comments

This function converts one datetime type to another. The result type is the type of the outdate descriptor. The session default time zone (ORA_SDTZ) is used when converting a datetime without time zone to one with time zone.

Returns

OCI_SUCCESS,

OCI_INVALID_HANDLE if err is null,

OCI_ERROR, if the conversion is not possible with the given input values.
