The key features of Oracle Syndication Server consist of being able to syndicate any Internet content to any Internet subscriber using any Internet communication protocol in a secure way.

This illustration shows three small boxes stacked above each other on the left side representing the three types of content providers: corporate sites, enterprise portals, and legacy systems. Oracle Syndication Server, represented as a larger box intersecting these three smaller boxes on its right side can take any content in the form of HTML, XML, HDML, WML, structured data from databases, application data from HR and CRM applications, and so forth, from these content providers and provide it to a subscriber, represented as a tall rectangular box to the left of the Oracle Syndication Server box.

Oracle Syndication Server can use any Internet communication protocol to either let subscribers pull content using HTTP or HTTPS represented as a single double-headed arrow connecting the Oracle Syndication Server box with the Subscriber box, or it can push content to a subscriber using HTTP/S, WAP, or SMTL communication protocols, represented as three single-headed arrows pointing into the right side of the Subscriber box. Subscribers can then redistribute this content, represented as three arrows coming out of the left side of the Subscriber box. Oracle Syndication Server can personalize this pulled or pushed content either by subscriber or by subscription.
