This figure shows the database state transitions that can occur on a primary database, a physical standby database, and on a logical standby database. This figure has three groupings of circles representing each state (one group for each database type) with arrows showing the transition that is allowed between the states on each database.

The concept of this graphic is described in the surrounding text and succinctly in Table 3-1.
